💙🤍 I’m loving our new entryway table. It was refinished by yours truly. 🌳 The old finish was stripped and sanded. Then the beautiful wood underneath was brought to life with plain Danish oil. 😍 Stunning handcrafted knobs from @etsy , a thrifted vase from @treasures_thrift_north_bend , a dish from my childhood home, and a @royalcopenhagen vase from my sister, finished off with drawings of our huskies by our sweet neighbor girl! 🐾❤️ When decorating for hygge, use things you already own or reuse items in new and fun ways. There’s no need to shop for new when you can repurpose or thrift. 🌎🥰

Oops I did it again! 🙊 I thrifted two “new” blue vases for my @lego flower collection. 🌹 Honestly, I didn’t mean to… but @treasures_thrift_snoqualmie got me once again. 🌸 My LEGO flowers mean so much to me, as they are gifts from my kids, husband and sister! ❤️ Personally, I am not a big collector of anything in particular. Eek, we went from winter to spring in the blink of an eye. Let’s just slow down, Mother Nature! 🌱 Are you seeing signs of spring where you live too? 😱

How do you pick your next read? 📚 Do you go by the text on the book jacket, reviews or recommendations from friends? 📕 The Fourth Wing by @rebeccayarros was picked for me - and not by just a random person. Our 15 year-old son gave it to me for Christmas because (his words) “mom, it’s all over TikTok, the mommies can’t stop raving about how good it is. I know you love books, so it sounded like a perfect one for you.” 🥰 (This does make me wonder what his TikTok “for you” page looks like - since he has moms raving about books on there… but I will worry about that another time!) I can say, this book has totally caught my attention and I have been going to bed early just so I can read a few extra pages before I fall asleep. “Fourth Wing”: Under-dog, book-lover and physically frail Violet Sorrengail fights for her place as a dragon rider at her less than idyllic war college. There’s suspense, dragons, love, drama, fantasy - oh… and did I mention dragons?! 🐉❤️

Winter storms bring out the beauty in nature, but also the best of family hygge. Ice and snow covered trees are a wonder to see, but so is siblings playing board games - and making it through a whole game of monopoly without anyone shedding tears. Winter hygge at its finest! ❄️🧊😍
